After a successful pop-up shop, BlackBear Children’s Boutique will have a permanent home in Shorewood, WI

October 23, 2019 – Milwaukee Journal Sentinel – After a successful three-month stint at a pop-up shop on Downer Avenue, BlackBear Children’s Boutique owner Emma Carollo has decided to plant more permanent roots with a store in her hometown of Shorewood, WI.

Carollo said she became interested in children’s clothing when buying gifts for her six nieces and nephews, who continue to inspire her taste in children’s fashion.

As she learned more about children’s clothing, Carollo decided to start an online store for BlackBear Children’s Boutique in May 2017. On her website, she curates styles from designers of high-quality clothing for infants, toddlers and children up to the age of 12.

In addition to the retail store, she was also featured at farmers markets and other events, like the University School of Milwaukee Holiday Shops.

Finding success with in-person sales, Carollo decided to go one step further in opening a pop-up shop on Downer Avenue from June through August.
