She manages to incorporate edgy nailhead designs of skulls and anchors, washed-down plaids and distressed seersuckers without the pieces looking hard-edged.
Outstanding offerings: Pow! is right. This set is bound to shake up the playground.

LEMON LOVES LIME Homebase: Flushing, NY DESIGNER: Joy Cha Sizes: 2 to 8 years; Wholesale prices: $17-$34 Retailers are like kids in a candy store with this taffy-colored, frilly-skirted, appliquéd-bedecked collection.

NEIGE Homebase: Irvine, CA DESIGNER: Adrienne Catrina Sizes: Girls 18 months to 12 years, boys 2T to 12 years; Wholesale prices: $10-$86 For Spring 2009, Catrina's girls' and boys' lines translate crisp sea breezes with cool tones of apple green and sky blue, fresh white, navy and vibrant pimento red. As always, there's a touch of nostalgia to her designs.

ROOSTER Homebase: New York, NY DESIGNER: Rhonda Wolk Sizes: 4 to 14 years; Wholesale price: $17-$42 Rooster purists beware, modernist Wolk, a proponent of simple shapes and solid colors, has introduced prints to her collection. Of course, they're understated and subtly toned - anything else just wouldn't be Rooster.

LITTLE JOULE Homebase: United Kingdom DESIGNER: Tom Joule Sizes: 3 to 12 years, shoes sizes 8 to 13; Wholesale price: $13.50-$60 I'm just back from a vacation in Cape Cod, MA, where the style was beach friendly casual wear, rich in the floral colors one finds along the eastern coast: rose, soft pink, sky blue, and lemon: Little Joule's palette to a tee.
Outstanding offering: Forget edgy. Joule goes right for pretty with this wallpaper design in a lush rose tone.
