Outstanding pieces: A little girl could wear the antiqued peach toned items for a ballet recital or to a birthday party.

MISHA LULU Homebase: South Pasadena, CA DESIGNERS: Karen Moran-Salazard and Joe Salazard Sizes: 3 months to 8 years; Wholesale prices: $15-$33 Some people (me included) think of the 1970's as the heyday of children's fashion. Shapes were sweet, colors could be unapologetically tacky and, whether it was hand crafted or not, manufacturers aimed for a "made by grandma" feeling. Misha Lula taps into that time with patterns that mimic patchwork quilts, the quintessentially 70's big-eyed girl motif, and folkloric screenprints. Can you tell I'm a fan?

THE BIG CITIZEN (NAY ET AL, INC.) Homebase: Los Angeles, CA DESIGNERS: Nay Khoubnazar Sizes: 3 months to 6 years; Wholesale prices: $7-$36 Big Citizens will love this collection. The designers built a collection around saturated color that isn't screaming bright, just appealing lively, and there isn't a constricting item in the bunch.

ONE KID Homebase: Westport, CT DESIGNER: Sabine Beysel Sizes: girls 12 months to 10 years, boys 12 months to 7 years; Wholesale prices: $10-$35 This multi-piece collection is more impressive than ever with gorgeous color palettes, plenty of detail and loads of merchandising options.
Outstanding piece: When dollars are tight, a garment that does double-duty is more attractive than ever. Here the smocked top tunic turns into a pretty skirt. Just tuck in the straps and pull it down to the waist. The leggings gather gently below the knee and sport a three-button detail.

TODDLER AND UP CHERISE Homebase: Stamford, CT DESIGNER: Sachin Batra Sizes: 4 to 6 years; Wholesale prices: $20-$42 Walking into Batra's booth was a little like entering the Taj Mahal. Everything was shimmering and glinting; there was such a kaleidoscope of patterns and the colors!
Outstanding pieces: The shapes are easy, the colors gleam like gemstones.. Look at the border on that sapphire dress! Look at the beading at the collar and borders of the green tunic!
