LOSAN

Homebase: Spain

DESIGNER: The Losan design team

Sizes: 6 months to 7 years; Wholesale prices: Shoes $12.50, apparel $20-$30

This fashion forward, casual sportswear line out of Spain is fully accessorized from head to toe. The styles are playful with a blending of trendy European looks and casual American flair.

Outstanding pieces: Only a designer with real color and pattern know-how would pair the striped tee and plaid cargo shorts and have the outfit look natural, not like print overdose.

PINEAPPLE KISS

Homebase: Brookline, MA

DESIGNER: Diana Cheren Nygren

Sizes: 12 months to 12 years; Wholesale prices: $9.50-$34.50

After a few years away from the kids' market, Nygren is back and Pineapple Kiss is better than ever. She re-launched with an extensive collection of girls' separates. Like her earlier lines, the pieces possess lots of flirty details as well as a gorgeous palette of orange, red, dusty green and sharp yellow. Ruffles are plentiful, and small-scale prints make merchandising effortless.

Outstanding pieces: She'll be a bit of a peacock herself in the Short Hoodie with an embroidered peacock and the flirty Ruffle Skirt that ties in the back with a big yellow bow.

PETIT COUTURE

Homebase: San Anselmo, CA

DESIGNER: Rebecca Kaykas-Wolff

Sizes: 3 months to 6 years; Wholesale prices: $10-$44

One could have a hoot of a good time mixing and matching this collection. The owl roosts on T-shirts, hats and blankets and it's just the right trendy motif to work with the tutu, dirndl skirt and funky print separates. A small group of solid knits add a classic note.

Outstanding pieces: Three pieces that add up to timeless, trendy and elegant.

Snyder's and Asars' shabby chic collection of rough-edged, washed cotton separates work for any season.

A palette that's truly seasonless.
