New York International Gift Fair - August 2010: A Room of One's Own - Part I There was some trepidation among exhibitors concerning the new location of children's collections from the General Gift area to the new Baby & Child section at the New York International Gift Fair, (August 14-19, 2010). At show time though, most exhibitors found the placement to be a plus, stating that buyers found them easily and were impressed with the spacious layout and careful organization of the 150 exhibitors' booths. In addition to the Javits Center, the 2800 exhibitors of all giftware categories were placed in Piers 92 and 94 along Manhattan's Westside. Sustainability is still an evolving theme with an area in the main hall of the Javits Center dedicated to environmentally and socially-conscious products. An awareness of retailers' tightened belts was evident in cost-conscious pricing among children's product exhibitors.
