Spring/Summer 2011 Children's Club: Familiarity Breeds Good Looks - Dress Collections Gingham is having a moment. So are sailor stripes in red, white and blue, polka dots, denim and plaid. I won't bore you with the whole "comfort-in-familiarity-when-times-are-tough" spiel. I'll say that the collections at ENK Children's Club (October 3-5, 2010) with classic patterns and color combinations looked just as fresh as more trend-driven lines. See for yourself.

Outstanding Piece: A flattering color; relaxed, crinkled linen; and a surfeit of ruffles make this A-line a feminine charmer.

Beau Beaux's freshly colored, pattern-driven, country-meets-hippie dresses could only be Owens'.  Outstanding pieces: The Claudia Flounce Dress: like sunlight on a flower garden.

Outstanding Pieces: Representing the less ornate side of CachCach is this lovely sky blue embroidered piece with a bubble hem.

Homebase: Key Biscayne, FL DESIGNER: Maria Frallicciardi Sizes: 3 months to 14 years; Wholesale prices: $21-$34.50 The designer works in a palette of warm-toned Liberty prints with fresh touches such as grosgrain ribbon, quilting techniques and, for traditionalists, touches of delicate smocking.  Outstanding Piece: This crisp paisley-print A-line is updated with quilt-makers "yo-yos" for an interesting jabot effect.

Homebase: Rye Brook, NY DESIGNERS: Michele Polo and Dayna Cohen Sizes: 2 to 14 years; Wholesale prices: $33-$38 The designers aren't afraid of dramatic patterns or vivid color. Their Jersey knits though, never look overblown thanks to flattering shapes and judiciously used embellishments.  Outstanding Piece: A feminine gathered neckline and braid trim along the bodice softens a bold print in a fabulous "look-at-me" color combination.

Outstanding Piece: The hot lime ground on this A-line gets a jolt of lightening from the bright orange and cocoa border, while sprays of delicate jasmine soften the works.
