Spring/Summer 2011 Established Accessory Lines Go to the 'head' of the class (here are some hair accessories and hat lines) that caught my attention at Children's Club, (October 3-5, 2010).

Ms. Chafetz is always working on the 'next big thing', adding styles, colorations, fabrications, and new designs. For Spring/Summer 2011, she, like many others, is especially taken with flowers, specifically "playful, bright flowers" (as exemplified by the headbands decorated with very lifelike Velvet Blossoms, Komico Blossoms, Orchid Flowers, and Tai Flowers). She also introduced a headband called Sea Glass, which looks like the real deal, and has had added new styles to her popular Communion Line: a few new bun rings, (one with their popular "vintage sequin" trim, and one with beautiful new "velvet blossom" flowers); several new headbands and veils decorated with beautiful flowers; a new headband with a veil using embroidered flowers with sequins; and a new style of veil in which the veil is attached to a bun ring instead of a headband.

When Jennifer (an avowed perfectionist, and classic 'type A' personality) became a mom, she could not find hair clips beautiful or special enough to use for her daughter so she set out to make them herself and a line was born. Her handmade, customized barrettes, pinch clips, headbands, soft headbands, pony o's, and crochet Kufi caps are always tastefully out of the ordinary (not over the top), thanks to the expert use of Swarovski crystals, not to mention the use of exquisite ribbons, sequins, beads, and silk flowers. Interestingly, even though the name of the line is Couture Clips, Ms. Kopelman had to admit that it is her headbands, often decorated and embellished with beautiful, large, lifelike silk flowers (and just a little bit of sparkle), which are her hands down best sellers.

In business for about 20 years, Ms. Ostach is passionate about her designs (it's "a lot of hard work and a lot of love") and insists that each piece, customized and hand made in her Cherry Hill, New Jersey studio, is perfect. Kids Kapers is an extensive line of hand made hair accessories boasting over 2000 styles which include barrettes, clips and headbands - bloom bands, soft bands, dry silk flower bands, satin floral bands, sheer floral bands, marabou bands, etc. which are covered with all manners and colors of bows, buds, flowers, flowers, and more flowers (her booth resembled a garden). Known for unusual designs which mimic the clothes of the season, she found ways to incorporate fashion favorites like denim, leopard prints, cheetah, zebra, and exotic snakeskin, within her designs.

Since it sounded so much like giddy giddy, it seemed like the perfect name for a line of colorful, sweet, innocent, naïve, hand crafted felt hair clips and hairclip holders, ponytail elastic bands, French barrettes, headbands, pouches, backpacks, and hats, which are decorated with appliqués of birds, butterflies, lady bugs, flowers, elephants, cherries, ice cream cones, cupcakes, snowmen, etc.
