October 26, 2018 – “Fourteen years ago I founded Black Wagon in Portland, OR, as a web/retail store to provide fun, inspiring, quality designed goods for babies, kids and their families,” says Sarah Shaoul. “In my journey as a small business owner, I’ve learned that the most important part of this business is people. The people who dedicate their time and give their best selves when working to help customers find the perfect gift and fit. The people who work to make beautiful hand made, quality clothing, toys and books. Our business neighbors and neighborhood residents who make me feel as a character in Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. And most importantly, the greatest gift has been the amazing people who’ve walked through our front door, the conversations we’ve had and the familiarity with returning individuals who I look so forward to picking up the conversations from previous visits.”
“It has been an honor and joy to be a part of this community. To watch your children, the community grow. And now my role in this community changes. The great news is that a woman who shares my values about community, quality goods and customer service excellence will be taking over Black Wagon. Her name is Carey Deza. Carey is a mom of 2 awesome kids, has operated her own small business for many years and has been an amazing employee at Black Wagon for nearly 2 years. It is with confidence that I pass the reins to Carey because she has the passion, energy and talent to make Black Wagon even better! Please welcome Carey as the new owner of Black Wagon!”
“And it is with this commitment to community that I dive into the next chapter of my life. I have harnessed my life experience and my love of people and community to launch Grief Gratitud Greatness, a podcast that explores our culture around grief, the gratitude that sustains us and the greatness we encounter along the way, one conversation at a time. In conjunction with the podcast I am working as a consultant and coach, helping people who are feeling stuck in grief, in business and in their lives. I would be honored to have you listen in on this project and to stay connected with you. Feel free to find me at Grief Gratitude Greatness and FB or just shoot me an old fashioned e-mail.”
“Thank you for being an integral part of my journey!”
