April 26, 2019 – The Daily Tribune News – As mothers themselves, Cartersville entrepreneurs Leah Harper Bush and Tina Jones know firsthand just how difficult it can be finding baby apparel within the local community. “If you live here, you really have to go to Kennesaw — there’s nothing really super close by,” Jones said.
Not that shopping online makes the process any easier, as Jones noted.
“Half the time, you end up with something that’s much lower quality than you’re expecting.”
So when retail space opened up at 108 West Main St. in Cartersville, Harper and Jones decided to fill the local gap in infant and children’s products via Cotton + Fox, which also houses Jones’ relocated sonography service Sweet Peek 3D Ultrasounds.
“When I had my place on Tennessee Street, that was just Sweet Peek, I had a really small inventory section,” Jones recounted. “But Leah, when she discovered she was pregnant, she came to see me and had mentioned that something she was interested in doing was opening a baby boutique, because it’s really something that Cartersville’s sort of lacking.”
The boutique officially opened Jan. 10, with a grand opening ceremony on Feb. 1.
“We are kind of like a one-stop shop,” Jones said. “We do everything from the ultrasounds, we have people coming to find out the gender of their babies, and then they can come in here and buy something — once they find out they’re having a girl or a boy, they can buy their first clothing item.”
