December 2, 2019 – Coshocton Tribune – Jessie Bates has sold at various consignment shops, but now has a store of her own on Main Street in Coshocton, OH.
Bexley Anns Boutique opened Nov. 22 with the theme of being a baby store with a little more. Along with infant and toddler clothes, it offers Mommy and Me matching outfits, some women’s clothes, purses and jewelry and a small selection of home decor items.
Bates of West Lafayette started selling her line of merchandise in June at a boutique where she worked in Cambridge, which also had a branch in Coshocton. When the store closed, Bates had to figure out what to do next.
“I went to the Apple Butter Festival and met a lot of new customers there,” she said. “I just decided Coshocton was where I was going to land.”
She also has satellite stores in other shops in Gnadenhutten, Millersburg, Cambridge and New Philadelphia. However, working out of her home to process clothes quickly was not a good option.
“My house was busting out with baby clothes,” Bates said with a laugh. “I needed a home store to have all my stuff at, that way I could tag everything here.”
