DRESSES EVIE JACKSON Homebase: Las Vegas, NV DESIGNER: Bre Barnes Sizes: 2T to 12 years; Wholesale prices: $35-$75 Barnes launched a collection of jewel toned sateen dresses and coats and wool blend separates. The pieces are understated yet decorative details such as an undulating ribbon embellishment on one dress and a series of bows that form an interesting neckline on another make them ideal for any special occasion. An impressive debut indeed. Outstanding pieces: This emerald green jacket sports a flattering portrait collar and beautiful back detail that's echoed in the coordinating pleated skirt. BIG GIRL CRAZEWEAR Homebase: Suffern, NY DESIGNERS: Jennifer Litvak, Lisa Galina and Mindi Meldrim Sizes: 5 to preteen; Wholesale prices: $16-$22.50 Global warming be damned! This organic cotton collection of separates keeps tweens cool when it's hot and warm when it's not. Each of the items has a single embellishment - a silver tattoo design for instance - so layered outfits don't look fussy. The color palettes: silver and black; teal and cocoa; orchid and sage are timeless. This is one line tweens will adore! Outstanding pieces: The tunic dress is light enough to go solo on warm days, or can be layered over the ribbed top as shown. When the weather dips, add coordinating leggings. That's a lot of mileage for the money. Tel: 845-357-0454 E-mail: crazewear@gmail.com
BOYS PENGUIN Homebase: New York, NY DESIGNER: Anne Doty Payne Sizes: Infant to 20; Wholesale prices: $5.50-$19.50 A logo seen on Penquin's T-shirt - "rock 'n roll prep school" - says it all. The slightly edgy retro boyswear features offbeat colors, lots of plaids and beautiful craftsmanship at great prices. Outstanding pieces: Forget pink and lime. These tees bring a sophisticated color range to the staid top. What to pair it with? A plaid windbreaker, of course. Tel: 212-536-5648 E-mail: Melissa.cecerewright@pery.com
KNITS STACIA Homebase: Santa Monica, CA DESIGNER: Stacy Johnson Sizes: Girls 3 months to 4T; Wholesale prices: $30-$65 The garments, knit from bamboo, bamboo and cotton, and Marino wool are as light as a veil and pleasingly cool to the touch. The shapes, colors and variegated Missoni-like patterns are right out of an Italian women's boutique - just smaller. Outstanding piece: The shape, the tie at the neck, and the colors make the garment a winner. Tel: 310-403-8552 E-mail: info@shopstacia.com
TWINKLE COUTURE Homebase: Newport Coast, CA DESIGNER: Laurie Patrick Sizes: 2 to 14; Wholesale prices: $10.75 to $56 Twinkle, twinkle little star what a glamorous pair you are! Patrick's longtime customers demanded that she create sweaters to match her chic dog items, and viola! a collection is born. Think "Legally Blonde" meets PETA and you've got the idea. Outstanding piece: A skull and crossbones doesn't look threatening when it's knit in pink angora and accompanied by similarly attired dogs. Tel: 866-503-0082 E-mail: lpdesignoo@aol.com
