Established Collections at the Spring 2009 ENK Children's Club (October 5-7, 2008) - Part I
INFANT AND UP BABY STAR Homebase: Portland, OR DESIGNER: Jennifer Vallez and Dana Johnson Sizes: 6 to 24 months; Wholesale prices for organic denim line: $13-$35 Baby Star is known for their towels, blankets and burp cloths in clean, modern prints. They've recently launched Little Dipper, a collection of pattern driven sportswear for boys and girls with a similar contemporary aesthetic. ENK was the debut of the new organic collection and, while the only pattern to be found is on the star-printed twill tape detail, the designs exude the same punch as the other collections.

DEUX PAR DEUX Homebase: Montreal, Canada DESIGNER: Claude Diwan and the Deux Par Deux design team Sizes: 6 months to 14 years; Average wholesale price: $21 Retailers look to the Deux Par Deux collection for innovative color mixing, prints that are scaled to a child's body and lots of detail. Their pattern blending and lush color palettes are especially arresting this season.
Outstanding pieces: There's a lot of subtle layering in this girl's outfit. The pale cocoa knit cardigan gets a hit of peach tulle with the interesting snap coverings while the tee is given dimension with a sheer overlay. That skirt, in the prettiest shade of dusty peach, is soft to the touch and the tiers add more dimension.

There are three groups in dynamic color combinations and modern shapes, each built around an outstanding pattern.

Her tees, skirts and hats, appliquéd using the "Broderie Perse" technique, have an earthy, edgy quality that's appealing to buyers.
Outstanding piece: A pretty palette.

Siegal's line features organic goods in modern shapes, and fashion forward prints and tones.
