ENK Established Exhibitors Spring/Summer 2010: I'm Okay, You're Okay - Part II
DAGMAR DALEY Homebase: San Francisco, CA What do I love about this collection? I could spot one of Dagmar Daley's garments and without ever seeing the label know it was hers. Daley's pieces - refined shapes with a nod toward the 1920's and 1930's and understated palette - are her trademarks. The dropped-waist and long pointed collar of the Lotte Tennis Dress is all she needs to tell the story. (Fits sizes 18 months to 8 years, $26.50-$41) Tel: 415 641-1286 E-mail: Info@dagmardaley.com
DAN DAN (organic choices available) Homebase: New York, NY Aiko Decelles' cotton and bamboo girls' separates are feminine and playful. This season, she makes the job of accessorizing the looks easy with the new Attachables, a set of clip-on hair accessories - a corsage, little bag and sash - that match her girlish prints. (Fits 12 months to 7T; apparel $11-$32, Attachables $7.50) Tel: 917 312-3465 E-mail: Info@dandangoods.com
FRENCHY BABY ORGANICS (Organic) Homebase: Dresher, PA Ali Herzog's six-piece girls' line features three organic cotton T-shirts and three organic yarn-dyed bottoms. A cute frog graphic ties the pieces to the sporty ticking striped coordinates. Easy to merchandise, easy to love. (Fits 3 months to 4T; $9.50-$18) Tel: 203 376-8714 E-mail: Sales@frenchybabyorganics.com
GLUG COLLECTION Homebase: San Francisco, CA Kids will love Glug's new designs for their comfort and fun graphics. Parents will appreciate Kristen Pena's elegant color palette and clean shapes. Win/Win all the way. (Fits 6 months to 6 years; $10-$22.50) Tel: 415 550-8545 E-mail: Kristen@glugcollection.com
JEANINE JOHNSEN Homebase: Warwick, RI This is a great season for fans of the Jeanine Johnsen line. The designer has loosened up her traditional look, adding clean tunics, well-cut white pants, and a fresh-from-the-garden palette of white, lime, soft pink and light teal. A bold stripe, used for several styles, waves like a bright summer awning. (Fits NB to 14 years; collection $11-$44) Tel: 401 738-1160 E-mail: jjwestonem@aol.com
KIWI INDUSTRIES (Organic) Homebase: Albuquerque, NM Becky Grebosky, who launched Kiwi (a line of organic knits and sportswear back when "organic" meant something vaguely granola), has sold the company to Faith Begay-Holtrop and Laura McIndoo. McIndoo, who has been designing the line for three years, will lead design and production and Begay-Holtrop will handle sales, marketing and operations. This season's designs have real impact with folk art-inspired motifs and bold jewel tones. (Fits NB to 6 years; $5-$29) Tel: 505 332-9090 E-mail: Faith@kiwiindustries.com
LEMON LOVES LIME Homebase: Shamberg, Il This isn't a collection for a kid who likes to blend into the crowd. Joy Cha's tanks and tees are bright and festooned with sequin-studded mermaids, ice cream cones, and all manner of whimsical motifs. Her dresses, skirts, and shorts are exuberantly ruffled and about as frou-frou as a girl can get. (Fits 2 to 10 years; $16-$43) Tel: 847 985-0666 E-mail: Sales@lemonloveslime.com
HAUTE BABY Homebase: Houston, TX She's a little glamour girl with a touch of Woodstock. What do you buy? Boo Woo-Eaker's on-trend bubble. The zebra striped band adds just the right note of sophistication to the patchworked bottom. (Fits infant to 6X; contact manufacturer for prices) Tel: 713 334-9006 E-mail: Sales@hautebaby.com
HAZEL Homebase: Vernon, CA There's lots of embroidery, lace trim, tulle and eyelet in this line yet it doesn't look overly girlie or sweet. The reasons are Janet Cho's offbeat colorations (that yellow is hot!) and easy shapes. Lovely knits, too. (Fits 2 to 6X; collection $14-$34) A Bit of Honey (Honey Smith) Tel: 212 947-5644
