Fall/Winter 2011 At ENK Children's Club: Cold Outside; Heating Up Indoors Did you feel the charge in the air at ENK Children's Club (January 23-25, 2011)? I did. The mood was upbeat with new and established manufacturers exhibiting well-edited collections. While looks were all over the style map, in girls' collections jewel tones and ruffles ruled; while deep hues and narrower shapes lent an elegant edge to boys' rugged separates.
KANYA Homebase: Stamford, CT DESIGNER: Sachin Batra Sizes: 4 to 16 years; Wholesale prices: $18-$36 Kanya is "the" line for tweens and juniors. Batra's shapes are body-conscious without being provocative, he works in jewel-toned palettes and he's added intriguing burnouts and mesh details to his ever evolving, always exciting collection.  Outstanding Pieces: The hot teal and red color combination freshens a tee and plaid mini while burnout adds a layer of interest to the sleeves and embellishment on the casual dress. Homebase: New York, NY DESIGNER: Tia Cibani Girls and boys sizes: 2 to 12 years; Wholesale prices: $20-$120 Designers presenting collections on the New York catwalks worked in jewel tones and autumnal hues. Channeling a softer aesthetic, they dipped into off-whites, dusty pinks, sugared beiges and sand - tints more than full-fledged colors. One of the strongest groups in kicokids' multi-piece line includes girls' pieces that function almost as webbing - light, soft, sheer yet covered, delicate.
