Between the Shows: September 30, 2008 Editor's Note: Some of our sponsor companies prefer to keep their children's businesses out of the national and regional wholesale trade show circuits (or at least not attend all the shows every season). Gretchen, who designs the collection and owns the business with Jeff Baker, has been busier than usual. For Spring 2009 she's offering retailers 10 groups of her exuberantly colored, pattern-driven dress and sportswear. "Our Spring 2009 collection is all about perfect fit and details: The perfectly placed bow, shirring, and puffed sleeves. We're using multi-tone floral embroidery. The hems are asymmetrical and the layered skirts are full. We've even added whimsical pompoms to the mix," says Gretchen.
City Sophistication, a collection of elegant pieces in a mix of modern polka dots and houndstooth, is comprised of easy-to-coordinate pieces and one fabulous jacket that pulls it all together.
