appointment of Robin Rice, a well-known industry leader,
as executive vice president of marketing. She will report
directly to Joe Pacifico, president of marketing. In her
new role, Ms. Rice will have overall responsibility for
merchandising, design, marketing, and licensing of all
product categories including Baby, Sleepwear, and
Playwear of all Carter brands.

Most recently, Ms. Rice held the
position of senior vice president of merchandising for
The Body Shop. She came to The Body Shop from Gap Inc.
where she held the position of senior vice president and
general manager for Gap Canada, responsible for all Gap
brands in Canada. Prior to this position, Robin served as
senior vice president of GapKids and BabyGap, and was
instrumental in building Gap Inc.'s baby business from
less than $150 million to over $1 billion
worldwide.
Prior to her successes at Gap Inc.,
Ms. Rice was vice president of product development for
the INC Kid's, Baby, and Boy's private label products for
a division of Federated Department Stores, Inc. Ms. Rice
was an outstanding performer in the merchandising/product
development sector, responsible for the private label
brands for Children and Juniors.
Ms. Rice earned a B.S. degree in
Communications from Boston University.
