Children's Club Fall/Winter 2007: New Lines It's always fun to 'discover' brand new designers and new collections (and several exhibitors did in fact use the Children's Club, held March 11-13, 2007, as their official 'coming out' party). And of course, it's always wonderful to follow up on recently launched lines and see how they are evolving. Here is a sampling of the ones that stood out this time around.
Alivian Collection Unique, colorful, whimsical hair accessories Designer: Natalia Berg Nielsen Sizes: Infant, Toddler, Girls 4 - 6X, Girls 7 - 14, Preteen Wholesale: $12 Standouts: The brand new cotton bandanas (adorned with Swarovksi crystals and emblazoned with initials, horoscope signs, skeletons, strawberries).

Baby Energy Bibs, patches, gift sets, and 'funzies' that are interchangeable, unique, washable, and adorable. Designer: Sha Pollack Sizes: Newborn, infant, toddler Wholesale: $2 - $14.25 Standouts: The brightly hued vinyl bibs; onesies with detachable bibs; the baseball hats; roomy yet neat 'Yummy Time' bags that come with a placemat and matching bib (and are a welcome evolution from the bulkier diaper bags).
FYI: Sha began with bibs and currently offers more than 1,000; there are over 125 interchangeable patches in denim or terry (which boast different logos and sayings) and add a personal touch to everything they decorate. Chop Shoey Chinese brocade shoes for little girls Designer: Rachel Navarro Sizes: Infant, Toddler, Girls 4 - 6X Retail: $54 Standouts: The Chinese brocade slipper shoe in pink, red, and blue decorated with a floral sequined cluster design (the rubber sneaker soles have a floral imprint on them as well).
FYI: Rachel is a costume designer who designed the clothes for the traveling tour of "The Boyfriend" directed by Julie Andrews; the mother of a 3-year-old girl, she says she always had a fascination with Chinese design and admits she always "loved shoes". Sam Edelman Fashionable flats for little girls ("it's all about flats") Designers: Libby and Sam Edelman Ages: 6 to 12 Wholesale: $22 - $27 Standouts: The jaunty ballet flats in vivid purple and turquoise patent leather adorned with a chunky gold chain; the ballerinas in leopard print or patent leather trimmed with a mod inspired square gold buckle.

FYI: This is their first season and their first Children's Club (their 'coming out' party); everything is made in Colombia, and they pride themselves on being "well priced for the market".
