ENK Children's Club: Established Lines Present for Fall 2009 - Part I Scaled down perhaps, but ENK Children's Club (March 8-10, 2009) was still bustling, and in attendance were not only new companies and new divisions, but well known names and established lines. Here, are some of those who grabbed my attention.
Pediped Footwear 'The next best thing to barefoot' Designers: Angela Edgeworth and Kim Morofke Wholesale: $4 - $19.25 Sizes: Preemie, infant, toddler Standouts: The embossed leather ankle strap shoes from the newly launched 'The Couture Collection'; the new line of hairclips, 'No Slippy Hair Clippy' which coordinate with the Pediped footwear collection. FYI: 'The Couture Collection' offers the 'ultimate in style and sophistication' and is geared for the 'ultra-chic' baby. It is comprised of 4 different styles, comes in its own unique packaging, and is available in limited quantities. Tel: 800-880-1245 E-mail: customerservice@pediped.com
Pazitos Fashion forward footwear for the smart young set Designer: Letty De Paz Sizes: Infant, toddler, tween Wholesale: $20 - $40 Standouts: The open toe 'Croco' sandals and satin ballerinas for newborns; the Classic Ballerina and 'Coco' (Chanel) inspired quilted cap toe Ballerinas for toddlers; the gold and silver metallic Mary Janes; the floral decorated gold metallic thong and the patchwork snakeskin skimmers and Mary Jane for kids and juniors. FYI: Ms. De Paz has been in business for 7 years, and has received much press including being featured in magazines like "Cookie", "Child", "People", and "American Baby". Her unapologetically sophisticated footwear boasts an international flair and mimics trends in the adult market, and she sells to high end fashion forward boutiques across the country Tel: 818-710-6582 E-mail: info@pazitos.com
Tic Tac Toe Quality and comfort in children's hosiery Wholesale: $1.50 - $12.50 Sizes: Infant - Preteen Standouts: The boys patterned socks (in a variety of popular patterns such as guitars, sports themes, trains); the girls' 'CT' Sneaker, Cheetah print, and ballerina toe sock; the girls' knee high socks in graphic bold patterns (mod circles and dots, classic stripes and argyles); the high quality microfiber footless tights and leggings.
FYI: Tic Tac Toe is a division of Cricket Hosiery; the Bridgeport Connecticut-based company is known for their hand linked seamless toe socks ( which guarantee comfort for children's sensitive feet) and heavy cotton tights as well as their novelty patterned boys' socks (since it's easier to find interesting socks and leg wear for girls), and they add new patterns each season. Tel: 203-336-4901 E-mail: customerservice@tictactoe.net
Elegant Baby Wholesale: $2.75 - $9.75 Sizes: Newborn - 7 Standouts: The 8-inch 'Super Duckie' which has suction on the bottom and a flexible spoon inside; the light up duckies available in two colorations - for boys and girls; the Squirties (Fire Department, Sports, Funky Jungle); the newly enlarged collection of ceramic piggy banks (in addition to their adorable pigs, there is now a giraffe, elephant, turtle, and bear) and each comes with a matching crib blanket. FYI: When I stopped by the booth and admired the wonderful piggy banks (the large ones always make me smile), I was reminded that Oprah Winfrey declared the piggy bank as "the only safe place to keep your money".
