Spirited, fun, and colorful printed swimwear collection for little boys and girls Designer: Matthew Langille Wholesale: $7.50 - $15 Sizes: 2T - 6X Standouts: The spandex swimsuits, swim diapers, one-piece 'scuba' suits, rash guards, hats, rubber thongs, and coordinating cotton terry towels; all of which are available in an assortment of fun, colorful, graphic prints (with names like 'Matisse', 'Pretty Cat', 'Loving Heart', 'Scuba Bear', etc.),and all with UV coating.
FYI: This brand new line, a division of IM-Link (which includes PluiePluie and L'Amour), made its debut at this Children's Club Show. The artist/designer is a well respected talent who is known for his childlike drawings, which have found their way onto such famed brands as Havainas, Marc Jacobs, and most recently, Swatch Watches, where he has just launched a collection. A collection of unique baby clothes with a 'sweet' rock 'n roll edge Designer: Nancy Gutierrez Wholesale: $7 - $15 Sizes: Newborn - Size 4 Standouts: The one-piece 'sleepers', one-piece (long and short sleeved), burn out T-shirts (printed with unusual, eye-catching designs such as the 'Tattoo Heart with Wings', 'Throne with Drum Set', 'Cross with Wings', 'Guitar with Wings'); the coordinating tutus with matching headbands; pettiskirts; the soft infant caps decorated with skulls & tiaras, crowns, eagles, etc.
FYI: This is a very sophisticated, well thought out and well edited line (there are a few very strong pieces, rendered in a pared down color palette of predominantly black, white, pink, and red); it has more than a touch of rock 'n roll edge, but it's all done with a sweet, elegant, and very sophisticated touch. FYI: Ms. Feller was inspired to create a line of "strong leggings for strong girls" (which are made from yoga type fabric and offer UV protection) because her young daughter was always falling down and needed extra protection; all items are packaged in a reusable cardboard purse. FYI: The line is only one-year-old and the designers, who are best of friends (and both talented moms with sons); claim they are "two minds that think alike". Every piece is 100% handmade: it is highly detailed, there is a lot of texture, and the employment of interesting combinations and the finest materials (they will gladly admit they "use anything they can get their hands on").
